I have the anti-glare coating on my glasses so I think I wasn’t able to get the scratch-resistant coating put on. I’m going to my eye doctor to get new lenses put on to my frames since they are still under the 1 year warranty period.

Well first, when buying new glasses, you should have them coated with a scratch-resistant coating.
No matter how you clean your glasses, they are likely to eventually get scratched by things in your environment. It’s more likely that they will get scratched by being stored improperly than by cleaning.
You should clean your glasses with special cleaner you can buy at lenscrafters or any other place that sells glasses. Then you should wipe them with a clean soft cloth. 3M makes microfiber cloths that work really well.
You should always store your glasses in a case when not wearing them.

Your optomitrist should be able to help you with your scratched glasses.
